Herrle’s
Fall Farm Tours provide an agricultural experience for children
in JK through Grade 2.
What
does our Farm Tour program include?
Four
activity-based Learning Centres
1) Play time in a corn maze, a hay jump and in a giant inflated
pumpkin
2) Play time with miniature farm machinery in a corn box
3) Discovery time in the pumpkin patch, picking pumpkins
4a) For JK and SK, pumpkin story and a snack (for the snack,
see pricing below)
4b) For Grades 1 and 2, seed planting and observation time
A
wagon ride along strawberry and pumpkin fields to
observe environment (water source) and technology (irrigation
systems, equipment and tools)
A
tour of our retail store to see how farm produce
is marketed.
Our
Tour Schedule:
Daily, Monday through Friday
from September 25 to October 31
9:30 am - 11:00 am
and from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Lunch
Time Tour:
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Students bring their lunches.
What
will your students take home?
· a small pumpkin (parents receive a large pumpkin)
· the seeds they have planted
· a colouring sheet
· a large pumpkin for your classroom
What
does the Tour cost?
· Basic Tour: $4.00 per person
(parents and students) GST included
(JK and SK classes are responsible for bringing their
own snack)
· Deluxe Tour: $5.00 per person
(parents and students) GST included
A snack of apple cider and freshly baked cookies is included
in the deluxe tour. Teachers are free!
